
Good quality mahogany drop-flap Pembroke table supported on turned legs. With ebony, boxwood and rosewood inlays. Circa 1815.
Minor repairs undertaken re-polished and wax finished to warm glow. Castors and handles replaced. Now in excellent sturdy order and ready to use for another 200 years.
The Pembroke table was named after the Countess of Pembroke who commissioned the first type of this table in the late 17th century, with the design subsequently copied by others. An ideal table for smaller spaces given its practical proportions and perfect for a multiple uses and as an occasional table.
